John Velissarios is a blockchain security consultant with over two decades of IT security expertise from the world’s leading consulting organizations.
Career
Velissarios spent eleven years as a Senior Principal in Accenture’s technology consulting practice, leading the security strategy and risk services practice across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. Prior to Accenture, he spent six years as a Senior Manager in PwC’s Security Consulting Practice. Throughout his career, he was entrusted with protecting critical private key infrastructure for tier-1 financial institutions and payment processors.
His expertise spans cryptography, digital currencies, risk management, threat and vulnerability assessment, security protocols, and governance. He has applied this enterprise security background to blockchain and cryptocurrency security consulting.
Education
Velissarios holds a degree in computer science and a graduate degree in cryptography and information security. He is a founding member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP).
