What Is Bonk?

Bonk (BONK) is a Solana-based memecoin best known for reviving on-chain activity on Solana after the FTX collapse in late 2022. Launched in December 2022 via a large free airdrop to Solana users, NFT holders, and developers, BONK quickly became the most widely traded and culturally significant memecoin on Solana. It has since grown into a broader brand with associated trading bots, launchpads, and integrations across Solana DeFi.

BONK launched on Solana on Christmas Day 2022. The token was created by a group of pseudonymous and named Solana ecosystem contributors who wanted to reward the community after a difficult year.
