What Is WEMIX?
WEMIX is the native cryptocurrency of WEMIX3.0, a blockchain platform built specifically for gaming. It is developed by Wemade, a South Korean video game company known for the long-running Legend of Mir franchise, which set out to bring blockchain economies to mainstream games. The central product is WEMIX PLAY, a platform that Wemade describes as one of the world's largest blockchain gaming services, onboarding many separate titles into a shared token economy where in-game assets and rewards can be tokenized.

The current network, WEMIX3.0, launched its mainnet in 2022 as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, meaning it runs Ethereum-style smart contracts while operating as its own independent chain. It uses a Proof of Stake style consensus built around a set of 40 Node Council Partners, a permissioned validator group that produces and validates blocks. This design favors throughput and predictable performance, which the team argues is important for games that need fast, low-cost transactions, at the cost of having fewer validators than a fully permissionless network.
The WEMIX token is used to pay transaction fees on the network, to trade and settle in-game assets across WEMIX PLAY titles, and to participate in staking. Around the core token sits a broader ecosystem: WEMIX STAKE lets holders lock tokens to earn rewards, WEMIX.Fi is the ecosystem's decentralized finance service for swapping and providing liquidity to on-chain assets, and Wepublic is a DAO-style platform for community proposals and funding. The project has also operated a US dollar-pegged stablecoin module as part of its on-chain financial stack.
WEMIX has a maximum supply of 590 million tokens, with a total supply of roughly 559 million and around 498 million in circulation. At current prices this puts its market capitalization in the range of 120 million US dollars. The token reached an all-time high of about 24.71 US dollars in November 2021 during the previous market cycle and has since fallen dramatically, trading far below that peak, a decline shaped both by the broader downturn in gaming tokens and by project-specific events.
WEMIX's history on exchanges has been unusually turbulent. In late 2022, a consortium of major South Korean exchanges known as DAXA delisted WEMIX over a dispute about the gap between the circulating supply Wemade had disclosed and the amount actually in the market. The token was later relisted in Korea, but the troubles returned in 2025. In February 2025, WEMIX's Play Bridge Vault was hacked and roughly 9 billion Korean won of WEMIX, on the order of 6 million US dollars, was stolen. The foundation was then accused of waiting several days before disclosing the breach, during which the price dropped sharply. DAXA subsequently voted to delist WEMIX a second time, and after Wemade lost a court bid to block the move, trading was suspended on the major Korean exchanges starting June 2, 2025. This made WEMIX the first cryptocurrency to be delisted twice in South Korea.
Despite that turbulence, Wemade has kept building out the WEMIX ecosystem, expanding WEMIX PLAY with new titles and pushing its own flagship games toward global audiences. With its Korean exchange listings gone, the project has leaned further into international markets, including a listing on the Western exchange Kraken. The company's strategy centers on using a well-known traditional gaming studio, with existing hit franchises, as the on-ramp for blockchain-based game economies, distinguishing WEMIX from purely crypto-native GameFi projects that lack an established game-development track record. Even so, the repeated delistings and the 2025 hack and disclosure controversy make trust and transparency the central questions hanging over the project.
Getting Started With WEMIX
You can engage with WEMIX as a gamer on WEMIX PLAY, as a token holder and staker, or as a developer building on WEMIX3.0.
- Step 1: Learn the ecosystem. Visit wemix.com to understand how WEMIX3.0, WEMIX PLAY, WEMIX STAKE, and WEMIX.Fi fit together.
- Step 2: Set up a compatible wallet. Because WEMIX3.0 is EVM-compatible, you can use the official WEMIX Wallet or an Ethereum-style wallet configured for the WEMIX network.
- Step 3: Acquire WEMIX. Buy WEMIX on a centralized exchange that lists it, then withdraw it to your own wallet over the WEMIX network.
- Step 4: Explore the ecosystem. Try games on WEMIX PLAY, stake tokens through WEMIX STAKE, or use WEMIX.Fi to swap and provide liquidity for on-chain assets.
How to Get a WEMIX Wallet?
WEMIX3.0 is EVM-compatible, so it works with the project's own wallet as well as standard Ethereum-style wallets configured for the network.
WEMIX Wallet
The official WEMIX Wallet is designed for the WEMIX ecosystem, giving access to WEMIX PLAY games, staking, and WEMIX.Fi. It is the most integrated option for interacting with WEMIX3.0 services.
MetaMask
MetaMask can be configured to connect to the WEMIX3.0 network by adding its custom RPC settings. Once connected, you can hold WEMIX and interact with WEMIX-based decentralized applications from the browser extension or mobile app.
Hardware Wallets
For larger holdings, a hardware wallet such as Ledger can be used together with a compatible interface to keep your private keys offline while still managing WEMIX and other assets.

How to Buy WEMIX?
WEMIX is available on both centralized and decentralized exchanges. Because WEMIX3.0 is its own network, make sure you select the correct network when withdrawing.
Centralized Exchanges
WEMIX is listed on exchanges including Bybit, Gate.io, KuCoin, and several South Korean platforms, typically against stablecoins such as USDT. After purchasing, you can withdraw WEMIX to a wallet configured for the WEMIX network.
Decentralized Exchanges
On-chain, WEMIX can be swapped through WEMIX.Fi, the ecosystem's own decentralized finance service, by connecting a compatible wallet and trading for other assets on the WEMIX3.0 network. Always verify contract details before swapping to avoid imitation tokens.
Latest WEMIX News
Wemade has continued to push WEMIX toward global gamers, including bringing flagship titles from its own studio to mainstream distribution platforms and relaunching its WEMIX.Fi decentralized finance service in early 2026. The company's focus has remained on growing WEMIX PLAY with additional games and deepening the on-chain economy that ties them together.
Prospective holders should weigh both the project's strengths and its troubled record. WEMIX benefits from being backed by an established traditional game developer with real titles and users, but its two Korean delistings, in 2022 and again in 2025, along with the 2025 bridge hack and the disclosure controversy that followed, are serious warning signs. Anyone considering WEMIX should follow the project's official communications closely and treat gaming-token valuations, which depend heavily on player adoption and on the project's ability to rebuild trust, with a high degree of caution.
