WhiteBIT was founded by Volodymyr Nosov, a Ukrainian entrepreneur from Kharkiv who serves as chief executive of the exchange and founded its holding group, W Group. The company has Ukrainian roots with its operating entity registered in Lithuania, and in June 2026 its European arm received a MiCA license from Austria's Financial Market Authority, allowing it to serve users across the European Economic Area. The exchange blocked Russian and Belarusian users after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, reportedly giving up about 30 percent of its user base, and has donated over 11 million dollars to Ukraine's defense. In January 2026 Russia's Prosecutor General designated WhiteBIT and W Group "undesirable organizations," criminalizing dealings with the firm inside Russia. The exchange has also faced scrutiny: a November 2025 investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists reported more than a billion dollars in illicit-linked crypto flows through WhiteBIT accounts, allegations the company denies.
The WBT token launched in August 2022 through a private sale and a Launchpad public sale on WhiteBIT. Its core utility works in two tiers: holding WBT on the exchange's main balance earns trading fee discounts of up to 100 percent on maker fees and up to 80 percent on taker fees, while locking WBT in the Holding program unlocks free daily ERC-20 withdrawals, boosted referral rates, and access to Launchpad token sales. A revenue-sharing program called SoulDrop distributes Whitechain transaction fees to holders who lock WBT. WBT also pays gas on Whitechain, which launched in 2023 as WB Network and was renamed Whitechain in February 2024; the chain is an open-source EVM Layer 1 with two-second blocks running a custom proof-of-authority consensus.
WBT has a fixed maximum supply of 400 million. Twenty-five million tokens were burned at launch, and the exchange runs regular fee-based burns with a stated goal of eventually destroying at least half of all coins. The token exists as an ERC-20 on Ethereum, a TRC-20 on Tron, and the native coin of Whitechain. Circulating supply figures vary by methodology; CoinGecko counts roughly 120 million WBT in circulation, giving WBT a top-20 market capitalization as of mid-2026.
WhiteBIT has built its brand heavily through sports. It has partnered with FC Barcelona since 2022, renewing in April 2026 for five more years as the club's official cryptocurrency exchange partner, and in June 2025 it became the official sleeve partner and cryptocurrency exchange of Juventus. In December 2025 WBT was added to five S&P Dow Jones digital market indices, and the token reached an all-time high of $64.11 that month after gaining roughly 160 percent in 2025.
Getting Started With WhiteBIT Coin
WBT's benefits center on the WhiteBIT exchange, but the token itself can be held anywhere its chains are supported:
- Step 1: Create an account on WhiteBIT or another exchange that lists WBT.
- Step 2: Buy WBT and either hold it on the exchange or withdraw it to a wallet on Ethereum, Tron, or Whitechain.
- Step 3: Lock WBT in WhiteBIT's Holding program to unlock fee discounts, free withdrawals, and Launchpad access.
- Step 4: Explore Whitechain, where WBT pays gas fees, and the SoulDrop revenue-sharing program.
How to Get a WhiteBIT Coin Wallet?
WBT lives on Ethereum, Tron, and Whitechain, so several wallet types work.
MetaMask
MetaMask holds the ERC-20 version of WBT on Ethereum and can connect to Whitechain via a custom RPC for the native coin.
TronLink
TronLink and other Tron wallets hold the TRC-20 version of WBT.
Hardware Wallets
Ledger and Trezor devices support WBT as a standard ERC-20 token, which is the safest option for larger holdings.

How to Buy WhiteBIT Coin?
